"Billabong "the Koala

I am sorry to report that ”Koala 0015″ –  a.k.a. “Billabong” is not too well at the moment. We had to call Ray at the the Moreton Bay Koala Rescue Inc. today (5.2.2010) who arrived in under 1 hour and confirmed  that he had an eye infection. Ray called for re-inforcements and together they had him down from his tree quickly and efficiently, although he clearly didn’t appreciate the help.  He has been taken off to the Australian Wildlife Hospital at Beerwah for treatment and we hope to have “Billabong” home here as soon as he has recovered.  We still have other Koalas in the area, although not as vocal as “Billabong”, which is a GOOD thing !   For further information about Moreton Bay Koala  Rescue Inc. and the terrific and important work they do:-

* Update on “Billabong” – although he has a serious eye infection, he is on a 12-week course of Antibiotics and hopefully will return to us in May.
